Irish Media: Five Drones Found Near Zelenskyy's Plane

Several Irish media outlets reported on Thursday, December 4, that a Irish vessel found up to five drones near the flight path of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy's plane on Monday, as he arrived in Dublin for an official visit.

Because of concerns that these drones could interfere with aircraft routes, authorities triggered a major security alert. However, The Irish Times cited multiple sources saying that although the flight arrived slightly earlier than scheduled, Zelenskyy's safety was never threatened.

According to The Journal, if the plane had flown on schedule, the drones would have been exactly where and when the plane passed.

Currently, relevant departments are investigating whether the drones were launched from land or from a ship at sea. The media said that the drones were first detected about 20 kilometers northeast of Dublin, near the capital's airport.

The Irish Ministry of Defense did not comment on the specific details, but stated that the security measures taken ensured the president could safely complete the visit.

Over the past few months, flights at many European airports, especially northern ones, have frequently been affected by drone interference. Some country leaders have accused Russia, but the Russian side has denied any involvement in these incidents.
