Petcharat announced that the Great Buddha of Wat Arun in Thailand has been listed on the tentative list of World Heritage Sites!

On July 13, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Petcharat revealed that Thailand received the report from the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee, which was held from July 6 to 16, 2025, at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France. The meeting decided to include the Great Buddha of Wat Arun on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The Great Buddha of Wat Arun is the most representative Buddhist architecture and is also the sole representative of Buddhism in Thailand and Asia on the World Heritage List.

"The inclusion of the Great Buddha of Wat Arun on the UNESCO World Heritage List is an important milestone for Thailand, which will have positive impacts in the following aspects: 1.
