China's Foreign Ministry: Strongly Opposes U.S. Sanctions Against India for Russian Oil!
China's position on opposing the abuse of tariffs has always been clear and firm.
TASS, August 8 report.
Zhao Jia Kun, a spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry, stated: "China strongly opposes the sanctions imposed by the United States against India for purchasing Russian oil, and considers this to be an abuse of power."
"China's position is clear and consistent, opposing the abuse of tariffs," said a brief comment published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, which relates to the tariff measures taken by the United States against New Delhi.
China's Foreign Ministry has repeatedly criticized Washington's unilateral measures, including sanctions against Russia, and has stated that it will take retaliatory measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
Previously, the U.S. government imposed an additional 25% tariff on India for purchasing Russian oil and petroleum products, and similar measures against other countries may also be implemented.
TASS pointed out that the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "These actions are unjust, unreasonable, and unwise." The department stated, "India will take all necessary measures to protect its national interests."
