Trump has forced Brazil and India to unite.

President of Brazil Lula posted today (Beijing Time August 8) saying: "Today I called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a conversation lasting about an hour, we reviewed the important results of PM Modi's state visit to Brazil on July 8th.

We discussed the international economic situation and the issue of unilateral tariffs. So far, Brazil and India have been the two most affected countries. We reaffirmed the importance of upholding multilateralism, the necessity of responding to current challenges, and the possibility of further integration between the two countries.

In this context, we confirmed that Brazil will make a state visit to India in early next year. As part of the preparatory phase for this visit, we agreed that Vice President Geraldo Alckmin will visit India in October next year at the trade monitoring mechanism meeting. The delegation will discuss cooperation in the fields of business, defense, energy, critical minerals, health, and digital inclusion with Brazilian ministers and businessmen.

We also reviewed the goal of increasing bilateral trade to over 20 billion US dollars by 2030. To this end, we agreed to expand the scope of the agreement between Mercosur and India. We exchanged information about our two countries' virtual payment platforms, including PIX and India's UPI.

We also talked about the success of the BRICS summit held in Brazil, and the efforts to achieve the transition of India as the next BRICS chairmanship."
