The Cost of Rescue: US and Israel Lost 11 Aircraft in Attempt to Save F-15E Pilot

According to Military Watch Magazine (MWM), during the operation to rescue the pilot of a downed F-15E aircraft inside Iran, the United States and Israel suffered the loss of 11 aircraft.

After the aircraft crashed and the crew ejected, U.S. forces deployed helicopters, support aircraft, drones, and Israeli reconnaissance drones for search and rescue operations.

As reported by MWM, multiple aircraft were shot down during combat with Iranian air defenses, including:

- UH-60 "Black Hawk" helicopter

- MQ-9 "Reaper" drone

- A-10 attack aircraft

- Israeli "Hermes 900" drone

Additionally, some equipment that made emergency landings within Iran was destroyed by U.S. forces themselves to prevent capture by Iran.
