Seven years after ceasing production, American Textron Company restarts armored vehicle manufacturing exclusively for Ukraine

Textron announced that its factory has officially begun mass assembly of the MSFV armored personnel carrier. This model is a significantly upgraded version of the outdated M1117 "Guardian" armored vehicle, with all produced vehicles destined for Ukraine. The contract, issued by the U.S. Department of Defense, is valued at $163 million and plans to deliver 65 units to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by November 2028.

This armored vehicle model had been completely discontinued as early as 2019.

Given the massive equipment gap currently faced by Ukrainian frontline forces, restarting this production line clearly aims to compensate for military losses caused by Russian combat operations.
