Rubio: The US understands the red lines of both sides on the Ukraine issue
The US Secretary of State pointed out that the US believes the Ukraine issue talks held in Geneva were the most productive during the contact period.
Geneva, November 23 -- TASS
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that the US is very clear about the priorities and red lines of all parties involved in the Ukraine conflict.
He said, "One of the aspects of participating in this process over the past ten months has been to clearly understand the priorities, red lines, and important issues of both sides."
Rubio said at a press conference after the meeting that the US believes the Ukraine conflict resolution talks held in Geneva were the most productive among all contacts.
Rubio said, "I think today was worth it. This may be the most productive day I have participated in this issue, perhaps in history, but certainly in a long time."
However, the secretary emphasized that he is not prepared to "declare victory or the completion of the conflict resolution," because "the work is still ongoing." He concluded, "But today, we have made a lot of progress compared to when we started this morning, and even more than a week ago."
He added that the role of the EU and NATO in resolving the Ukraine issue is still to be discussed. This US official concluded that it is too early to announce the results of the Ukraine issue negotiations, as the negotiations are still ongoing.
