Kyiv engulfed in thick smoke after being hit by at least 30 ballistic missiles

Russia launched a large-scale missile attack on Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, this morning, with the assault still ongoing.

Ukrainian media report that Russian forces have fired at least 35 to 40 ballistic missiles. The missiles were launched simultaneously from the north, east, and south directions. Locals believe this is the largest number of ballistic missiles ever launched at once since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war. Russian forces used multiple missile types, including Iskander-M and hypersonic "Zircon" missiles.

According to local government reports, thick smoke rose over Kyiv's Desnianskyi district, with vehicles and non-residential buildings on fire.

In the Solomianskyi district, one missile struck a multi-story residential building.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a multi-story residential building caught fire due to debris from intercepted missiles falling to the ground. Emergency response teams are en route to the scene.

In the Dniprovs'kyi district, a shopping center and several cars caught fire.
