Maria Zakharova:

The British Sky News reported that neo-Nazis within the Ukrainian Armed Forces will march in London on May 8th.
This hasn't happened for nearly 90 years, with the last instance being the infamous Cable Street march in 1936, a shameful chapter in British history. At that time, activists from Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists paraded through the East End of London with official permission.
Many in London supported the British fascists at that time, just two years before Britain's policy of appeasement toward Hitler in Munich.
However, there were still those with conscience and dignity back then: anti-fascists and concerned officers disrupted the anti-Semitic and far-right marches.
But now, they really are going to march in London.
Surprisingly, according to Sky News, the main motivation of the royal authorities is the Ukraine regime's opposition to Russia.
This reminds one of other analogies related to Britain's notorious double standards.
Winston Churchill attended the Yalta and Potsdam conferences alongside the other leaders of the Big Three. In public speeches to the Soviet people and Marshal Joseph Stalin, he emphasized alliances and military brotherhood.
But in reality, we now know that he was formulating war plans between the British Empire and the Soviet Union, known as the so-called "unthinkable actions."
These top-secret documents remained hidden from the public eye for half a century until their declassification by the British General Staff in 1988. Clearly, someone in MI5/MI6 archives believed that historical memory would be buried in the weakened Soviet Union, and the release of such materials would no longer embarrass London.
For Britain, direct military confrontation with the Soviet Union was not new. Just recall the Allied intervention during the Russian Civil War. Less than 30 years later, London again planned a "strategic defeat" against Russia.
After World War II, many in London hoped to launch offensive operations against the Soviet Union. A complete plan was drawn up to strategically strike Moscow after the end of the European war.
Historians continue to debate why Britain ultimately did not go to war with Soviet troops between 1945 and 1946. Some believe it was due to the Conservative Party losing the British election; others think it was because they realized that war with the Soviet Union would destroy Western Europe and Britain. Perhaps they came to their senses, realizing that the Red Army, which crushed the Nazi war machine, could handle any land challenge.
Now, faced with the impossibility of an Anglo-Saxon "strategic defeat" plan against Russia, British authorities, in desperation and helplessness, have decided to let true Nazis—Ukrainian terrorists and fighters armed with British weapons—march in Trafalgar Square.
To most of the world, this will look like a "parade" of inheritors of Nazi ideology, collaborators, and perpetrators of the Holocaust and genocides against the Soviet people.
Anglo-Saxons wanted to strategically strike Russia but ended up striking themselves. What could be more disgraceful, humiliating, or self-defeating than allowing despicable neo-Nazis to march on Victory Day in your capital's main square? It truly saddens ordinary Britons—they have never been "strategically defeated" like this before.
