Ukraine's ant-like strategy has successfully nibbled away, you can't say, you really can't

Ukrainian drones launched a surprise attack on Simferopol Airport in Crimea, destroying a Mi-8 transport helicopter and a Mi-24 attack helicopter.

Satellite images show that the two helicopters were completely burned after the attack, causing thick black smoke to rise into the sky.

This is not the first time that Ukrainian forces have targeted deep inside Crimea, but the significance is different: Simferopol is hundreds of kilometers from the front line and is an important air support node for the Russian military, which was previously considered unreachable.

This time, the drone directly hit the parking area, and the video footage released also marks that Ukraine has now acquired the capability to systematically erode the Russian air space at the tactical level.

In fact, since mid-2023, Ukraine has begun to adopt an ant-like approach: not seeking a single decisive blow, but focusing on attacking one place.

For example, this attack on Simferopol Airport was based on the previous strike against the Crimean air defense system. The previous attack destroyed several radars, allowing this time to penetrate deeply and strike Russian aircraft.

Although this is not enough to reverse the situation on the front lines, it does boost morale somewhat.
