Zelenskyy says Friendship Pipeline has been repaired, Kremlin states readiness to resume oil supplies

On April 21, Zelenskyy expressed great anticipation for the European Union to unfreeze the frozen 90-billion-euro loan. This funding had been blocked by Hungary and Slovakia after Ukraine halted the transit of Russian oil.

Zelenskyy stated, "The EU's two-year, 90-billion-euro package of support for Ukraine must be unfrozen... There is now no reason to continue freezing it. The EU previously required Ukraine to repair the 'Friendship' oil pipeline damaged by Russia—we have completed the repairs."

In the meantime, Kremlin spokesperson Peskov said Russia is ready to resume oil deliveries: "Technically, we are prepared. We have treaty obligations with Hungary... Everything depends on whether Kyiv will reopen the pipeline and stop extortion."

Previously, Hungary and Slovakia had indicated they would lift their veto on this Ukrainian loan as soon as oil supplies resume.
