American author Shaun Rein commented on the China-US trade war in this way. He wrote on social platforms:
We wasted $2 trillion in the Afghanistan War, while China spent hundreds of billions of dollars on high-speed rail.
We wasted trillions of dollars and built more than 800 military bases in over 80 countries, whereas China has only established one overseas military base. China spends money on schools, which is why it can launch DeepSeek, Huawei's chips, and new energy vehicles that are better than Tesla.
I can walk around any area of Shanghai at night, but I wouldn't try doing the same in Chicago or San Francisco.
China didn't steal our jobs. If you have to blame anyone, blame American oligarchs and their political lackeys, like Hillary (who was a member of Walmart's board), because she moved factory jobs to China.
But frankly, don't even blame them—China's manufacturing helps us Americans buy more iPhones, Nikes, and Dells. We should thank Chinese factory workers for their hard work despite receiving such low wages instead of accusing them of stealing our jobs.
