Russia delivers sharp rebuttal: Macron's "pressure" remarks actually amount to ordering terrorist attacks on civilians

Russia's Foreign Ministry says Macron's remarks about exerting pressure on Russia amount to issuing orders for attacks

On August 5, Maria Zakharova, official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that French President Emmanuel Macron, under the pretext of increasing pressure on Moscow, was in fact issuing directives to the Kyiv authorities to carry out terrorist attacks against civilians.

In an interview with the TASS website, she said: "Macron's call for increased pressure on Russia is equivalent to directly ordering terrorist attacks against peaceful civilians."

The diplomat emphasized that the French leadership must recognize its direct involvement in terrorist acts targeting women and children.

Earlier the same day, following a Russian nighttime strike on Kyiv, Macron announced that he would intensify pressure on the Russian Federation. He stated that the EU would continue to work with partners to increase pressure on Moscow, including through new sanctions and expanded military support for Ukraine.
