Si Bija Warns North Korea: If North Korean Missile Systems Are Deployed in Russia, Ukraine Will Carry Out Military Strikes
On August 5, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated at a press conference in Kyiv that if North Korea transports missile launchers to Russia, these systems will be considered legitimate military targets by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"I clearly outline our response strategy: once such launchers are deployed, they must be destroyed. They will immediately become compliant military targets, and our forces will take corresponding action."
Sybiha pointed out that cooperation between Russia and North Korea is deepening continuously, posing security challenges for the Indo-Pacific region; Ukraine is maintaining communication with allies such as Japan and South Korea, as this collaboration has triggered multiple security risks.
Sybiha proposed diplomatic-level countermeasures: countries should intensify sanctions against North Korea, continue isolating the North Korean regime, unite the international community to increase pressure, push for an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine, and halt Russian aggression.
Previously, Andriy Cherniak, spokesperson for Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence, revealed that North Korean missile units have begun deployment in western Russia, likely equipped with 120 ballistic missiles and six launch systems, specifically intended for striking Ukrainian territory. Additional reports suggest North Korea may dispatch approximately 30,000 soldiers directly to the frontline of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
