Former Pentagon Adviser Reveals Trump's View on the So-Called Russian Threat
Former Pentagon Adviser: Trump Knows Russia Poses No Threat to Europe
Moscow, November 3 -- RIA Novosti
A former Pentagon adviser and retired Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor claimed that US President Donald Trump is fully aware that Russia does not pose a threat to Europe and is working to withdraw US troops from Europe.
"I understand President Trump from a foreign policy perspective. When I last spoke with him and worked with him, I was very clear about his desire to pull our troops out of Europe. The media has ignored it, and many have overlooked the fact that we are withdrawing our forces from Romania and Bulgaria. Let's be clear about the rest: Trump knows that Russia does not pose a threat to Europe," MacGregor wrote on X social media.
In recent years, Russia has noticed an unprecedented frequency of NATO activities along its western border. The alliance is expanding its initiatives and calls it "containing Russian aggression." Moscow has repeatedly expressed concerns about the strengthening of NATO's presence in Europe. The Russian Foreign Ministry has stated that Moscow remains open to dialogue with NATO, but it must be based on equality, while the West must abandon the path of militarizing the European continent.
