According to the Kabar news agency of Kyrgyzstan, a government meeting discussed more than a dozen practical issues related to implementing the project. Relevant government agencies must quickly resolve the difficulties that have arisen. Deputy Prime Minister Torobaev of Kyrgyzstan emphasized that the significance of this project goes beyond infrastructure; it aims to promote economic growth, improve the quality of life for citizens, and strengthen the connections between people and regions.

The section of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway within Kyrgyzstan's territory is over 304 kilometers long, with an investment expected to exceed 4.5 billion US dollars. Such a large-scale infrastructure project is difficult to implement, with about 40% of the route consisting of tunnels and bridges, planned to build 27 tunnels and 41 bridges. Kyrgyzstan plans to complete the project by 2030.

In December 2024, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project held its launch ceremony. In April of this year, the key facilities of the railway started construction.
