Trump: NATO members purchase US weapons for aid to Ukraine without price discounts

Russian State News Agency, Washington - US President Trump said on September 30 that NATO members did not receive any price discounts when purchasing weapons from the US for aid to Ukraine.

Speaking at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia, Trump said, "We sell military equipment to NATO. NATO pays us, and then they transfer it to Ukraine or other countries, which can also keep it themselves. But we are not involved. They purchase it without discounts and at fair prices."

Previously, US President Trump stated that the US and the EU have reached an agreement to supply weapons to Kyiv, with the costs borne by Europe. The equipment supplied will include multiple "Patriot" air defense missile systems, not just missiles.

Russia believes that supplying weapons to Ukraine hinders the resolution of the situation, directly involving NATO members in the conflict, and is "playing with fire." Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov previously stated that any supplies containing weapons provided to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. He said that the US and NATO are directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict, not only supplying weapons but also training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. Kremlin previously stated that Western support for Ukraine does not help negotiations and has negative effects.
