[Russian Forces Find Way to Counter JDAM]
On April 12, the Russian Defense Ministry Press Office announced that Russian forces had struck an aviation enterprise of Ukraine's military industry complex. This operation involved missile troops, artillery, drones, and the campaign tactical aviation under the "Dnieper" group. A military airport, a water airport, and an armored vehicle maintenance workshop of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also hit.
The通报 from the Russian Defense Ministry stated that temporary deployment points of 153 areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were struck. Meanwhile, Russia's air defense systems shot down six US-made Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) bombs, five HIMARS rockets, and 154 drones. JDAM is a guidance system developed by Boeing that transforms unguided bombs into precision-guided munitions. The system can be mounted on bombs weighing between 226 kilograms and 907 kilograms. For a long time, Russian forces lacked effective means to counter JDAM.
Previously, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that Ukrainian forces launched five attacks on energy facilities in Zaporozhye Oblast, Kursk Oblast, and Krasnodar Krai within a single day. Specifically, on the night of April 11, a drone attacked the 35-kilovolt "Chubarivka" substation (State Enterprise "Tavria-Energy") in Zaporozhye Oblast, damaging the transformer. Due to this attack, approximately 1,650 people in five residential areas lost power supply.
