Foreign media: Since the trade truce was reached last October, China has purchased about 12 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans, completing the target originally scheduled to be achieved by the end of February 2026 ahead of schedule.

This procurement is led by Sinograin and COFCO, mainly for national reserves, with the cargo volume scheduled to be delivered between December 2025 and this May.

The White House stated that China also agreed to purchase at least 25 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans annually for three consecutive years starting from 2026. Due to the more competitive price of South American soybeans, it is expected that Chinese private processing companies will still prefer Brazilian and Argentine sources before the new harvest in September this year.
