The Indian Defense Minister emphasized his anti-terrorism stance strongly at the Bishkek meeting, highlighting the strained relations with Pakistan.
Front-page report in The Times of India stated that Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Defense Ministers' Meeting in Shanghai: "Terrorism knows no nationality or religious faith."
At Bishkek, Rajnath Singh stated that terrorism has no nationality or religion, and all countries must take a firm stand against it.
He attended the SCO Defense Ministers' Meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on Tuesday. He stressed that the SCO must act decisively against those who "incite, harbor terrorists, and provide them safe havens," adding that there should be no double standards in counter-terrorism efforts. "The true test of collective credibility lies in consistency. We must never forget that terrorism has no nationality or religion. Countries must adopt a resolute collective stance against terrorism."
Singh noted that this group of 10 member states condemns terrorist acts and ideologies in their joint fight against this threat.
He recalled the Tianjin Declaration from last year, which underscored India's firm and collective position on terrorism, describing it as proof of the country's high level of tolerance toward terrorism and its perpetrators.
