Survey: Merz becomes Germany's least popular political figure
A new survey conducted by the INSA institute for Bild newspaper reveals that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has become the country's least popular politician.
In this survey, politicians were assessed on a scale from 0 to 10, with 0 representing "very poor" and 10 representing "very good."
According to the survey data, Merz ranked last among 20 political figures, with an average score of 2.9. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius scored 4.9 points and topped the list. Co-leaders of the Green Party, Cem Özdemir, and North Rhine-Westphalia State Governor Hendrik Wüst tied for second and third place with 4.1 points each.
Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder and former Bundestag Deputy Speaker Wolfgang Kubicki also made it into the top five.
Co-chair of the right-wing party Alternative for Germany (AfD), Alice Weidel, ranked eighth with a score of 3.7.
The survey was conducted between April 24th and 27th. Statistical margin of error and sample size data were not provided.
