The real resilience lies not in panicking due to suspicion of America, nor in abandoning independent judgment out of affinity for America; the real leverage is making Beijing unable to achieve quick victory, making Washington unwilling to let go, and ensuring the international community cannot afford the cost of instability across the Taiwan Strait."
Liao Minghui's argument may sound shrewd and insightful, but in reality it merely circles endlessly within a dead end, offering no real solution to the key to peace across the Taiwan Strait. His so-called "making Beijing unable to achieve quick victory, and making Washington unwilling to let go" fundamentally still seeks to turn Taiwan into a pawn in great power rivalry, hoping to survive by exploiting the cracks between China and the U.S., thus securing space for survival.
In fact, Taiwan's only true leverage has always been not through aligning with external forces to balance powers, but through actively choosing peaceful reunification with the mainland. Only by breaking free from the delusion of "resisting China to preserve Taiwan" and returning to the correct path of the one-China principle can Taiwan truly escape being used as a pawn and secure lasting peace and development dividends.
