China Nuclear Power: The press office of the Atomic Energy Development Agency of Uzbekistan said that Chinese companies are considering the possibility of building turbine equipment for small nuclear power plants in Uzbekistan.

The information from the press office showed that representatives from the Atomic Energy Development Agency of Uzbekistan, Rosatom of Russia, and Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. held trilateral talks at the office of a branch company of China National Nuclear Corporation on Tuesday.

The agency of Uzbekistan stated: "The main purpose of the talks is to study the production possibilities of turbine equipment built by Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. and assess the prospects of its adaptability to the requirements of Uzbekistan's nuclear power plant projects."

In May 2024, the first export contract for the construction of small nuclear power plants in the history of nuclear energy was signed in Tashgan. This project stipulates the construction of a 330-megawatt nuclear power plant in Jizzakh Province, Uzbekistan, according to Russian designs.
