Georgia's Prime Minister says relations with the EU need to be restored
Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in an interview with Georgia's "Imedi" TV station on New Year's Eve that the EU itself should have an interest in restoring relations with Georgia.
The head of government pointed out that Georgia is the only passage connecting Central Asian countries with Europe through the Black Sea, and considering the current geopolitical situation, Brussels intends to open new markets through the country.
Previously, on December 22, Kobakhidze had said that the EU was using the issue of Georgia's potential European integration to extort and pressure the country. He emphasized that just as NATO's "open door policy" eventually turned into a "passing wind policy," the so-called open policy of the EU towards Georgia is also a "passing wind policy," where the issue of European integration is merely used as a tool to extort Georgia.
