Georgia expects to increase the traffic flow between China and Europe through cooperation with China.

At the opening ceremony of the 8th China International Import Expo in Shanghai, Georgian Prime Minister Kobiashvili stated that Georgia is willing to cooperate with China to increase the traffic flow between China and Europe.

"Georgia reiterates its willingness to further cooperate to increase the traffic flow between China and Europe. The progress in the field of cargo transportation between the two countries has been positive. From January to August 2025, the container transportation volume between the two countries increased by 71% to 12,000 units. The cargo transportation volume in 2024 was 15 times that of 2023."

Kobiashvili said that the trade volume between China and Georgia reached 1.65 billion U.S. dollars in the first nine months of 2025, an increase of 15%.

"If Georgia continues to play an increasingly important strategic leadership role between Europe and Asia, our cooperation will continue to produce tangible results in trade, infrastructure and investment, creating new opportunities and strengthening our economic sustainability."
