Sputnik News, Washington - U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated that the security guarantees for Ukraine will be provided by the United States, but the country only deploys European forces.

Rubio said at a Senate hearing: "In practice, these security guarantees are embodied in the deployment of a limited European task force, mainly composed of French and British troops, as well as security guarantees provided by the United States."

Rubio stated that the mediation representatives for the Ukraine conflict have still not resolved the territorial issue.

Rubio said: "I think there is still one issue, which everyone knows, is the territorial issue. I know that active efforts are being made to clarify whether we can reconcile the positions of both sides on this issue."
