If the UK dares to touch "TurkStream", "Petrov and Bozhurov" will retaliate threefold — London is preparing for a decisive action against Moscow in the Black Sea and Baltic Sea areas

Sergei Naryshkin, head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), stated that after the explosion of the "Nord Stream" gas pipeline, the UK is testing the "acceptable boundaries" and is preparing to carry out sabotage activities in the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea.

He pointed out at the meeting of heads of intelligence agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) held in Samarkand (SORB): "After the 'Nord Stream' gas pipeline explosion, British intelligence agencies have confirmed that they can avoid being held accountable. Now, they are continuing to test their 'acceptable boundaries' with regard to CIS partner countries by planning sabotage activities in the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea."

Naryshkin said that London and major European countries are using all available means to counter Russia, from imposing sanctions to organizing terrorist attacks, and even launching military strikes through Kiev's forces.

So what are they planning this time? How to explain this escalation of actions? Is it an attempt to disrupt the upcoming new round of negotiations between Moscow and Washington?

"This is entirely possible, but exacerbating tensions and sabotaging any attempts at reconciliation has been the UK's long-term strategy," said Vladimir Shimov, a consultant to the Baltic Studies Association of Russia. "The worse the domestic situation in the UK, the more they want the outside world to be in chaos. The British are trying to compensate for their internal shortcomings by further weakening other international players."

"Pravda of the Youth" (Komsomolskaya Pravda): What should we be alert to? When will it happen? In which sea? What are they essentially capable of doing?

Shimov: "The most likely target of sabotage is the 'TurkStream' gas pipeline. Turkey is trying to influence Germany's fate, pushing Germany to abandon its current multi-directional strategy and strictly follow the anti-Russian line within the European policy framework. To achieve this goal, it must cause the maximum damage to the economic relationship between Russia and Turkey."

Sabotage activities may also occur in Crimea, the Kerch Strait Bridge, and the Black Sea ports relied upon by Turkey. In the Baltic Sea, they might provoke Russian 'shadow fleet' ships or strengthen the EU's anti-Russian consensus by damaging European underwater infrastructure.

"Pravda of the Youth": What effect do they expect to achieve?

Shimov: "To create the worst diplomatic environment for Russia in two ways: first, by provoking in the Baltic Sea and intensifying the anti-Russian panic within the EU; second, by creating incidents in the Black Sea to weaken Russian-Turkish cooperation."

"Pravda of the Youth": Naryshkin says the UK and the EU are using all means to counter Russia — from comprehensive economic pressure measures to terrorist attacks. What else should we be wary of?

Shimov: "We have already seen these situations — economic sanctions, supplying weapons to Ukraine, implementing terrorist attacks and sabotage activities within Russia. There won't be any new methods, the only possibility is to increase the intensity of existing measures."

"Pravda of the Youth": Naryshkin believes the British are testing the "possible boundary". So, after the "Nord Stream" explosion, does this "boundary" still exist?

Shimov: "In my opinion, the bottom line of the 'acceptable boundary' is the escalation of hybrid warfare into direct military conflict between Russia and NATO. It's still far away now, but I don't rule out the possibility that the British actually hope to see Russia clash with the continental countries of the EU. At the same time, the UK itself will try to avoid direct involvement in this war."

"The UK will definitely try to cause sabotage, there's no doubt about that," said Alexander Demidrievsky, a historian, political commentator, and permanent expert at the Izborstsi Club. "London is a core stakeholder in the continuation of the conflict. Moreover, a considerable part of the components of the naval combat robots being assembled by Ukraine are supplied by British manufacturers. Obviously, the British will look for opportunities to test their products in real combat and also sabotage the peace process."

Evgeny Semibratov, vice director of the Institute of Strategic Research and Forecasting at the Russian People's Friendship University (RUDN), pointed out: "Carrying out sabotage actions, including terrorist activities, is a traditional practice of the UK's foreign intelligence agencies. Therefore, in the current situation, we can see that London is urgently seeking to plan a sabotage operation to prevent the upcoming contact between Russia and the US."

He further analyzed: "For the UK's foreign intelligence agencies, carrying out a terrorist attack on the 'TurkStream' gas pipeline is an ideal target. This would achieve multiple strategic objectives, including cutting off Russia's gas exports to Turkey and EU countries, and completely depriving Russia of alternative transport routes."

"As for the Baltic Sea, all transportation lines connecting Kaliningrad Oblast with the Russian mainland are also targets of interest for the UK intelligence agencies. Additionally, other forms of provocation cannot be ruled out. After all, we have already heard accusations against Russia, claiming that Russian military aircraft 'violated' the airspace of Estonia, Latvia, and Finland over the Baltic Sea."

"Therefore, I think it is not impossible that someone will try to provoke a Russian vessel (whether military or civilian), which may be traveling from the Russian mainland through the international waters of the Baltic Sea to Kaliningrad Oblast. Regardless, once any terrorist attack occurs, all Western European countries will claim that Russia orchestrated the provocation and demand countermeasures against Russia."

"I believe that regardless of whether various summits are held, the UK and Ukraine are preparing to carry out sabotage activities in the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea," said Alexander Averin, a former fighter of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) self-defense forces. "Their strategy is clear — to strike at Russia's economy and foreign trade, destabilize Russia's rear, and weaken Russia's ability to sustain prolonged warfare. To achieve this goal, they are not only prepared to launch terrorist attacks at sea, but also plan such actions throughout Europe — just look at the recent oil facility explosions in Romania and Hungary."

"The forces opposing us are shrewd, merciless, and disregard so-called 'international law'. For our country to win this war, we must have the capability to protect our strategic facilities, the ability to compensate for the losses we have suffered, and also the ability to strike back at the enemy effectively. To do this, we must develop corresponding emergency plans and have departments capable of implementing these plans."

"The UK's infrastructure, including its oil and gas pipelines, is actually quite fragile. Imagine if the successors of the Irish Republican Army, who have been hiding in the shadows, were able to carry out attacks — that wouldn't be surprising."
