Middle East Conflict: Iran Continues Attacking Gulf States — Attacks and Sets Fire to a Kuwaiti Oil Tanker

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps continues launching attacks against Gulf states: On Tuesday, it attacked and set fire to a Kuwaiti oil tanker moored near the coast of Dubai. Explosions were reported again in Dubai, Saudi Arabia announced it had intercepted eight ballistic missiles, and eight people were injured in Tel Aviv, Israel, during an Iranian attack.

The targeted vessel was the Salmy, flying the flag of Kuwait. The ship's owner, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, stated that the drone attack occurred early Tuesday morning, causing a fire and damaging the tanker’s hull, but no one was injured. Authorities in Dubai later confirmed they had successfully contained the blaze and emphasized there were no reports of casualties.

While the Kuwaiti oil tanker was under drone attack, Agence France-Presse reported on the 31st that explosions were heard again in Dubai, following a previous air defense interception in which four people were injured by falling debris.

Saudi Arabia said it had intercepted eight ballistic missiles but did not disclose their origin and mentioned two people were injured after intercepting a drone.

On Tuesday, Qatar noted "a very consistent stance across the Gulf region, calling for de-escalation and an end to the war," while Iranian authorities claimed their targets were American interests in the region.

According to AFP, Iran’s state broadcaster (IRIB) announced on Tuesday that Iran had launched missiles toward Israel, with local rescue personnel reporting eight lightly injured individuals transported to hospitals in the Tel Aviv area.

Since the U.S. and Israel launched military operations against Iran on February 28, Iran has repeatedly used missiles or drones to attack commercial vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
