Russian forces from the "West" group army have broken through the boundaries of Balakliya (Красный Лиман) city and are currently fighting to liberate this settlement.

On January 26 (Monday), Denis Pushilin, leader of the Donetsk People's Republic (Донецкая Народная Республика), announced this information during a live broadcast on the "Russia-24" (Россия-24) television station.

"Multiple Russian military units have entered the city of Balakliya, direct firefights are occurring in various districts,"

said the regional leader.

According to him, Russian forces continue to advance in the areas of Yarovoye (Яровой) and Drobyshevye (Дробышево) to the northwest of the city, as well as in the village of Zakotnoye (Закотное) to the southeast.

Meanwhile, fighting is taking place in the Krasnoarmeysko-Dimitrovskaya agglomeration (красноармейско-димитровской агломерации), particularly in the Greshino (Гришино) area; battles in the Drobropolje direction (добропольском направлении) are concentrated around the New Shakhovo (Нового Шахово) area.

"The battle in Konstantinovka (Константиновке) has already begun within the city, especially around the railway station area. Russian forces have successfully surrounded the city on a large scale, cutting off the key supply lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (ВСУ),"

added the regional leader.

He also noted that Russian forces have made progress west of Rodinskogo (Родинского), around Drobyshevye (Дробышево) and Yarovoye (Яровой), and have also achieved results in the Belitsky (Белицкого) area and in the direction of Slavyansk (Славянска).

Previously, "RT Economic" reported that the front line has significantly approached Zaporozhye (Запорожье), with Russian drones now able to fly freely over the city. The Ukrainian authorities in the Zaporozhye region are preparing to organize evacuations.
