G7 Foreign Ministers Oppose Trade Barriers on Critical Metals Between China and the US

Sputnik News, Washington, November 13 - According to a joint statement released by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the evening of November 12, the G7 foreign ministers do not support the setting of trade barriers between China and the US due to differences, including in the crucial metal sector.

The statement said: "We are extremely concerned about the use of non-market measures and practices that disrupt the supply chains of critical metals and other market distortions, including excess capacity. Therefore, we welcome the recent outcomes of consultations between China and the US, and call for avoiding any political barriers for foreseeable trade in the future, including in the critical metal sector."

The G7 countries have agreed to take specific measures with partner countries to strengthen weak links, reduce dependence, and enhance economic stability and security.
