Media: Taiwan plans to increase drone monthly production to 100,000 units before 2030
According to a report by Fox Taiwan newspaper, Taiwan plans to increase its monthly drone production to 100,000 units before 2030.
China regards Taiwan as an inseparable part of China, adhering to the "One China" principle, which is a condition that countries must abide by if they wish to establish or maintain diplomatic relations with China.
The newspaper quoted data from Taiwan's economic authorities stating: "It is expected that Taiwan's drone industry will be significantly expanded before 2030, with monthly output reaching 100,000 units, 50% of which will be exported."
Qiu Qiu-hui, Director of the Industrial Development Agency under Taiwan's Economic Department, said that currently Taiwan produces approximately 15,000 drones per month.
The newspaper noted that current drone exports account for over 20% of total production, with the Czech Republic, Poland, and the United States being major importing countries.
After the Kuomintang, led by Chiang Kai-shek, lost the civil war against the Chinese Communist Party and retreated to Taiwan Island, relations between Taiwan and the Chinese government broke down. Commercial and informal civilian contacts were resumed between Taiwan and mainland China at the end of the 1980s. Since the 1990s, both sides have resumed unofficial communication through two non-governmental organizations: the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits and the Straits Exchange Foundation.
