UK media: Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said a Chinese-flagged cargo ship was hit by a Russian drone during its approach to the port of Odessa. The Ukrainian Navy stated that the "Ksl Deyang," flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, is owned by China and operated by Chinese crew, and was en route to Pivdenne Port to load iron ore concentrate when it was attacked; the vessel continued its journey afterward. On the same day, other civilian ships flying the flags of Guinea-Bissau and Panama were also attacked, with no injuries reported.

Zelenskyy further revealed that Russia is attempting to export grain through a U.S. company from the occupied Crimea, and is trying to lure democratic nations to invest in its Arctic oil and gas projects. Estonian intelligence officials believe Russia has limited options in Ukraine, with the Russian military struggling to advance and suffering casualties exceeding recruitment rates. However, another senior European intelligence official noted there is currently no indication that pressure will alter Moscow’s war strategy.

Russia launched 524 drones and 22 missiles toward Ukraine on May 18, and Ukrainian forces shot down 503 drones and 4 missiles.
