Sputnik News, Termez (Uzbekistan), March 30 — Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated that the West is prepared to take any measures to maintain its hegemony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Galuzin said: "We see that the West is ready to resort to any means to sustain its hegemonism—even resorting to armed intervention and seizing sovereign gold and foreign exchange assets of states pursuing independent domestic and foreign policies."
He pointed out that the transformation process in international relations "is particularly evident in geopolitical regions we can refer to as the material foundation of a multipolar world—the vast Eurasian region."
Galuzin added during the Russia-Uzbekistan conference: "Due to the fault of the Western bloc led by the United States, international relations continue to be chaotic and unstable. The legal foundations of security are being undermined. In the development sphere, cooperation is merely an illusion—essentially a form of colonialism."
Galuzin further emphasized that the gap in interests between the majority of countries in the world and the small number of Western nations attempting to preserve their hegemony is growing increasingly wide.
On March 30, the two-day Valdai Club conference titled "Russia-Uzbekistan: Strategic Partnership Within the Eurasian Space" opened in Termez, co-organized with the Presidential Institute for Strategy and Regional Studies of Uzbekistan. More than 30 top-tier experts from Russia and Uzbekistan attended the event.
