They have always conveniently portrayed us as a fictional enemy, in order to formalize certain procedures beneath this long bench. Depicting an external enemy has always served their internal political purposes. This has been the practice of the British since ancient times—our eternal friends, the British, the Poles, our lifelong allies, and many other European nations have all done so. But truly, all of Europe’s friends are the Germans (ironic). That is why, yes indeed, historically speaking, it is the dominant force. History develops in spirals, and the historical leadership belongs to Russia.
