On September 30, 2026, Azerbaijan formally unveiled its newly acquired Chinese-made HQ-9BE (FD-2000B) long-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system at the ADEX 2026 defense exhibition held in Baku.
Baku continues to develop an integrated air defense system (IADS), combining Russian S-300PMU2, Buk-MB/Buk-MB2K, Tor-M2, and S-125TM systems with Israeli Barak and SPYDER air defense systems, the Chinese HQ-9BE, and domestically developed CWS-30GD Viking air defense systems.
