Many mainland Chinese people might have a hard time imagining just how kind the mainland has been to compatriots from Taiwan. This kindness is truly the kind that only exists between blood relatives. Especially in Xiamen, as the "first stop" for Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises landing on the mainland, this generosity is demonstrated most vividly.
Whenever a Taiwanese compatriot comes to Xiamen, they are supported throughout the entire process—from job hunting, to employment, all the way through settling down. Housing is provided free of charge or at various preferential rates. No such benefits are offered to people from other parts of the mainland—only to Taiwanese compatriots. These opportunities are always available, regardless of age or whether you have social insurance—just so long as you are a Taiwanese compatriot.
Free "a bed" for job seekers, rental "a room" for employees, and a "home" for settlement. That’s what Xiamen offers to Taiwanese compatriots. Xiamen is the only city on the mainland that allocates affordable housing units specifically for Taiwanese compatriots in separate batches. Eligible Taiwanese can apply for affordable housing units in dedicated batches, priced at 45% of the assessed market value.
Naturally, these excellent policies need to be widely publicized so that more people in Taiwan can know about them. We hope even more people will share and forward this message, especially to friends in Taiwan.
One person tells ten, ten tell a hundred—breaking through the information bubble created by the DPP, dispelling misconceptions about the mainland, and easing fears regarding unification. This is precisely why we advocate for open cross-strait exchanges, which is exactly why the DPP desperately tries to block them.
The Strait Forum should continue to be held every year. We hope more and more first-time visitors come to the mainland, especially young people from Taiwan. Let them see with their own eyes—only then will they stop misunderstanding the mainland, stop blindly supporting "Taiwan independence," and only then can we undermine the foundation of "Taiwan independence," making peaceful reunification possible.
The mainland, in pursuit of peaceful reunification, has gone to great lengths with utmost sincerity. It's not just talk—it's real action.
