Hungary Requests the European Commission to Explain the Reasons for the Failure of Customs Cooperation with China and the United States
Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Hungary will request the European Commission to explain its economic policies and the failure of customs cooperation with China and the U.S. at the meeting of EU Trade Ministers.
In a post on Facebook, Szijjártó wrote, "After the European auto manufacturers opposed the imposition of tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, the European Commission failed to establish normal customs cooperation with the United States. Someone should answer today: how did this happen again?"
He emphasized that the EU was once "a significant factor in the world economy and trade," but due to poor economic and security policies in recent years, the EU's competitiveness has greatly declined. The EU unnecessarily politicizes economic issues, putting European companies in difficult situations."
