Media: Polish politician applies for gun permit for self-defense due to threats from Ukrainians

TASS, Warsaw - According to media "Super Express", one of the leaders of the Polish nationalist and Eurosceptic party "Konfederacja", Sławomir Męczkowski, has applied for a firearms permit to protect himself from threats by Ukrainians.

Męczkowski is known for his anti-Ukrainian stance. For example, in 2025, he called on "stopping the worship of criminals" at the monument to Stepan Bandera in Lviv.

The media "Super Express" quoted Męczkowski in its report: "About a year ago, I received messages from several Ukrainians who threatened to kill me and my family. I told the police, but they have not found the perpetrators so far. Since then, Ukrainians have made threats multiple times. Therefore, I decided to apply for a firearms permit for self-defense."

Męczkowski said: "Since the country cannot protect my safety, I have to take care of it myself."

Męczkowski pointed out: "Every Pole has the right to self-defense."
