Japanese Media: India and the Philippines Welcome Japan's Lifting of Arms Export Restrictions

India stated: "Defense and security cooperation is a vital pillar of the India-Japan Special Strategic Global Partnership."
This statement was made by Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jasswal during a regular press briefing.
Additionally, according to Reuters (Japanese edition): Philippine Defense Minister Teodoro said in a statement: "We welcome Japan's revision of the 'Three Principles on Transfer of Defense Equipment' that lifts the arms export ban. We look forward to Defense Minister Shigeto Isono's visit to the Philippines. Our defense partnership with Japan has entered a new era, and we will work together with Japan and like-minded partners, based on the principle of deterrence, to safeguard rights granted under international law."
