Trump: Not Rushing to Reach Agreement with Iran; Iran: U.S. "Trying to Spark Another War"

Iran – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghai said that, after a Pakistani mediator visited Iran on Wednesday, Iran is "studying" the new proposal put forward by the United States. U.S. President Trump stated he is not in a rush to reach an agreement with Iran, but negotiations have entered the "final stage." On Wednesday, Trump said: "Either we reach an agreement, or we take tougher measures."

Iran's chief negotiator Ghalibaf said the U.S. "is trying to spark another war," adding that Iran must "step up preparations to respond forcefully to any further attacks."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry reiterated Iran’s demands: unfreezing Iran’s overseas assets and ending U.S. blockades of Iranian ports.

On the U.S. side, Trump reiterated earlier Wednesday that Tehran "urgently wants to reach an agreement," while not ruling out the possibility of launching a new offensive.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a statement on X on Wednesday, saying, "Iran has always honored its commitments and explored every possible avenue to avoid war," emphasizing that "all options remain open." According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, he met with Pakistan's Interior Minister in the afternoon to discuss progress in the negotiations.

Pezeshkian stated, "Attempting to force Iran to surrender is nothing but a dream." He called for "mutual respect," noting that "in diplomatic affairs, mutual respect is far wiser, safer, and more enduring than war."
