IT之家 July 31st report, technology media techpowerup released a blog post today (July 31st), reporting that AMD has achieved the "fastest in the world" in almost all CPU forms.
AMD has won gold and silver medals in the latest Top500 supercomputer ranking, thanks to the powerful combination of the fourth-generation EPYC "Genoa" CPU and Instinct MI300A AI GPU.
In the AI PC field, AMD also launched the Ryzen AI Max processor codenamed Strix Halo. With 128GB memory under the Windows system, Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 became the first AI processor in the world that can support up to 96GB VRAM on consumer-grade graphics cards and run Meta's Llama 4 Scout 109B model (activated parameters of 17B) locally.
In gaming and productivity fields, AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D "Granite Ridge-X" is considered the fastest desktop processor, far outperforming Intel's Core Ultra 9 285K.
In the laptop field, Ryzen 9 9955HX3D "Fire Range-X" is the fastest processor; in the server field, the fifth-generation EPYC "Turin" processor, with its high core count, higher memory channels, and PCIe channels, has become an industry leader; additionally, Ryzen Threadripper 9000 "Shimada Peak" is undeniably the king of high-end desktop and workstation processors.
The only form where AMD has not dominated may be the U- and H-segment mobile processors, where the "Strix Point" die lags behind "Arrow Lake-U" and "Arrow Lake-H" in CPU performance.
