According to reports by American media such as CNBC and Bloomberg, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA who accompanied U.S. President Donald Trump on his Middle East visit, announced on May 13 that NVIDIA will sell more than 18,000 of its most advanced AI chips to Saudi Arabia's AI company Humain.

On the same day, Huang made the announcement at the Saudi-US Investment Forum held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. He said that over the next five years, Humain will obtain "hundreds of thousands" of NVIDIA's latest processors. The first batch will include 18,000 NVIDIA's cutting-edge GB300 Grace Blackwell chips and its InfiniBand network technology, which will be used to build a data center in Saudi Arabia with a total capacity of 500 megawatts.

"I am very pleased to be here today to celebrate the opening of Humain. The vision of Saudi Arabia building its own AI infrastructure to participate in and help shape the future of this transformative technology is truly impressive," Huang said.

It was reported that Humain aims to promote the construction of Saudi Arabia's AI infrastructure. The company, which will be owned by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, is dedicated to developing AI models and building data center infrastructure. Its plans ultimately include deploying "tens of thousands" of NVIDIA GPUs.

Huang said: "Saudi Arabia has abundant energy resources, and these large NVIDIA AI supercomputers essentially become AI factories when they convert energy."

In addition, AMD also announced on the same day that it would supply chips to Humain's data centers. AMD stated that Humain has committed $10 billion to the project.

That day, NVIDIA's stock price rose more than 5%, and AMD's stock price increased by 4%.

Trump praised Huang for attending the event on the 13th and compared him with Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple who did not attend. Apple refused to comment on this matter.

Trump said: "Thank you very much, Mr. Huang. I mean, Tim Cook didn't come, but you did."

According to insider information, the Trump administration is considering an agreement that would allow the UAE to import more than one million advanced NVIDIA chips, a number far exceeding the restrictions on AI chip purchases under Biden's administration. The insiders said that this agreement still under negotiation would allow the UAE to import 500,000 of the most advanced chips each year until 2027.

To promote the development of AI, the Trump administration officially revoked the so-called "AI Dissemination Rule" introduced during Biden's term on the same day. This rule, due to its restrictions on chip procurement by various countries, has been strongly opposed by companies like NVIDIA and America's allies. The Trump administration is currently drafting a new plan, which is expected to shift towards separate negotiations with each country.
