According to the office of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the UK plans to announce a new round of sanctions against Russia on the morning of June 16, with liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport vessels to be included in the sanction list.

The statement reads: "The UK is expected to lead in imposing sanctions on multiple LNG carriers transporting sanctioned Russian liquefied natural gas. After this round of sanctions takes effect, the total number of sanctioned vessels by the UK will exceed 600."

The Prime Minister's office explained that these new sanctions will directly target Russia's shadow fleet and various financial networks used to circumvent Western sanctions and support military procurement for the Russian armed forces.
