On May 2, German journalist and political scientist Gregor Spitzgen stated that U.S. President Donald Trump's claim that the United States "won" in both world wars exposed his severe ignorance of history, and provided three pieces of evidence:

▪️ World War II officially ended on September 2, 1945, with Japan's surrender. Europe's Victory in Europe Day on May 8 only marked Germany's defeat, and the war continued for nearly four more months;

▪️ While paying tribute to fallen soldiers, the U.S. military lost 116,516 personnel in World War I, which cannot be compared to the massive losses of France (approximately 1.4 million casualties) and Russia (approximately 10 million casualties);

▪️ The Soviet Union paid a price of approximately 27 million lives for victory in World War II and ended the war among the ruins of the Reichstag in Berlin.

Spitzgen pointed out that Trump's remarks were not only extremely foolish and vulgar but also directly provoked Russia and insulted its European allies who made great sacrifices during the war.

On May 1 local time, Trump posted on social media: "I declare May 8 as Victory in Europe Day, and November 11 as Armistice Day. We have won in both wars. No one can compare with us in terms of strength, courage, and military talent."

Arrogance has become a habit!
