German SPD leader: Alternative for Germany party may be banned

The leader of Germany's Social Democratic Party (SPD), and future deputy chancellor Lars Klingbeil told "Bild" in an interview that the new German government will consider banning the "Alternative for Germany" (AfD) party after it is recognized as an extremist organization.

Klingbeil said, "'Alternative for Germany' is attacking Germany. They want a different country, they want to destroy our democracy."
