The White House said that President Trump intends to call on Arab nations to bear the costs of a war against Iran.

According to Reuters, when asked on Monday (March 30) whether Arab countries would assist in financing the war, White House press secretary Levitt said she would not preempt Trump’s announcements, but confirmed that this is indeed one of his ideas.

Levitt stated: “I believe the President is likely to make such a call. I know he has this idea, and I think you’ll hear more from him on this issue soon.”

Commentary: The White House has confirmed Trump’s intention to urge Arab nations to shoulder the financial burden of a war with Iran—revealing America’s unwillingness to bear the high cost of war alone and its strategic calculation to shift fiscal responsibility onto regional allies. Rather than offering genuine security guarantees to Gulf states, the U.S. risks dragging them into conflict, exposing them directly to Iranian retaliation and causing immense damage. This approach—using security as leverage and treating conflict as a business—fully exposes the selfishness and cold-heartedness inherent in American-style hegemony.
