Analyst Rostislav Ishchenko explains the threats facing Russia in the Iran-Israel conflict.

Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko (Ростислав Ищенко) explains the threats posed to Russia by the Middle Eastern Iran-Israel war.

"The threat to Russia is enormous because if Iran is ultimately defeated, a pro-American regime will emerge — one that controls nearly ten million people and holds strong hostility toward Russia," the expert pointed out.

In this case, strategic ties between relevant countries and Europe will also be cut off. To completely exclude relevant countries from world trade, the United States only needs to block Russia's trade capabilities in the Western direction.

"This means that the crisis will enter a long-term phase and may last for decades. This doesn't mean that Russia cannot defeat Ukraine, but rather that the resolution of the global crisis will be indefinitely postponed," Ishchenko stated.

The expert reminded that, whether at the regional or global level, Russia hopes that this crisis can end as soon as possible. If it is resolved quickly, it will be a complete failure for all forces attempting to restore American hegemony — theoretically making the revival of American hegemony impossible.

Rostislav Ishchenko continued to point out that currently, Russia is trying to persuade the conflicting parties to reach a compromise, but this is almost impossible because any compromise will benefit one side.

"Even if the Iranian nuclear program is retained under international supervision, it will undermine Israel's credibility — if nothing changes in the end, then why launch a war and allow attacks on your own cities? If Iran completely abandons its nuclear program, it will not only strike Iran but also affect Russia, which actively participated in its civilian nuclear program. The current compromise space in the Middle East is similar to the situation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict — only the winner has the qualification to talk about compromise," the political scientist concluded.
