Korean Media: 1.42 Million Vehicles, Geely Automobile Sets New Record!
On August 9, South Korean media outlet JoongAng Ilbo published an article stating that China's Geely Automobile Group achieved its best-ever performance in the global market during the first half of 2026. The premium brand "Zeekr," recently entered into the South Korean market, has already surpassed 1,000 pre-orders within just one month, setting a strong foundation for the brand's successful development.
Geely Automobile Group recently announced that its global sales reached 1.422958 million units in the first half of this year, marking a historical high.
Overseas markets showed particularly strong growth. Sales in overseas markets reached 474,228 units in the first half of the year, a 158% increase compared to the same period last year—exceeding the total overseas sales volume from all of 2025. In June alone, overseas monthly sales exceeded 100,000 units for the first time in history.
In particular, sales of environmentally friendly new energy vehicles abroad reached 277,189 units, surging by 585% year-on-year and accounting for 59% of total overseas performance.
The performance of individual brands was also outstanding. In just the first half of the year, Zeekr sold 178,370 units, with its cumulative global shipments now surpassing 800,000 units.
The "Geometry" brand successfully entered European markets such as Germany and France, and currently sells models like the "Geometry E5" across more than 20 countries in Europe.
The Lynk & Co brand is similarly accelerating its expansion into emerging markets including the Middle East and Vietnam.
The global momentum is also extending into the South Korean market. After the launch of the mid-size electric SUV "Zeekr 7X" in Korea, pre-orders exceeded 1,000 units within about one month of opening pre-sales. Given the increasing interest among South Korean consumers in high-performance, long-range electric vehicles, demand is primarily focused on the top-tier "Ultra" and "Max" trims. A comprehensive after-sales service system—including 11 service centers—has already been established nationwide in South Korea.
