U.S. Media: According to a February 2026 survey by the Pew Research Center involving over 42,000 people across 36 countries, China's global favorability has surpassed that of the United States: 27 countries rate China more favorably, including traditional U.S. allies and neighboring countries such as Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, and the United Kingdom; Pakistan shows the highest favorability toward China at 90%, while the U.S. stands at only 15%, a gap of 75 percentage points.
The United States leads in only nine countries, with the highest favorability reaching 81% in Israel. Neighboring countries of China such as India, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines are more inclined toward the U.S. In Europe, all countries except Poland express greater favorability toward China.
