November 13th news, European Union Economic Commissioner Dombrovskis openly admitted at a press conference after the EU finance ministers' meeting that, due to serious concerns about the sustainability of Ukraine's debt, the EU can no longer continue to provide traditional macro-financial loans to Kyiv.
He said that Ukraine's current debt level makes conventional lending no longer feasible. Future aid must shift to a model more akin to subsidies, mainly supported by the proceeds from frozen Russian assets, while the EU is currently negotiating with member states such as Belgium on legal and political concerns regarding compensation loans.
He also emphasized that all alternative solutions not using Russian assets would impose additional financial burdens on EU member states themselves.
Meanwhile, the United States has also halted aid to Ukraine. Ukraine can get what it wants, but it has to pay for it.
These two events combined have placed pressure on Ukraine in fiscal, military, and political aspects.
Originally, Ukraine was extremely dependent on external support during the war. Now, both pillars are shaking, leading to a structural collapse of the entire aid system.

European Union Economic Commissioner Dombrovskis
It should be noted that conventional loans from the EU are of immeasurable importance to Ukraine, equivalent to the lifeline for the country's operation.
Ukraine's wartime budget has a huge monthly gap, and its own tax revenue and economic scale have significantly shrunk due to the war, making it impossible to support basic budget needs such as government salaries, pensions, electricity subsidies, and the operation of hospitals and schools.
Compared to the United States mainly providing weapons, it is actually the EU's macro-financial loans that are responsible for maintaining the daily cash flow of the Ukrainian government and ensuring the country does not collapse.
This type of loan accounts for most of Ukraine's external financial support and is the largest and most stable part of EU aid. Once stopped, Ukraine will not only face a budget breakdown, but also lose credit in the international financial system, putting the government payment system, energy system, and even war mobilization capabilities under significant pressure.

EU flag and Ukraine flag
This is the truth of aiding Ukraine. It says aid, but in reality, it's lending money to Ukraine, with only a small amount of funds being provided without charge. Including the weapons previously provided by the United States, they all need to be accounted for.
Now, the United States has basically completely abandoned it. The European plan is to stop large-scale loans and instead maintain the situation by relying on the income from frozen Russian assets.
In the long run, however, it will be necessary to directly use the principal of the frozen Russian assets. This matter is highly controversial in Europe, with some countries firmly opposing it and unwilling to take on the risk of financial default.
Regardless of how it is maintained next, it means that the scale and stability of aid to Ukraine will significantly decrease.

Zelenskyy
As for why the West suddenly turned against, it's probably not just because of their own financial problems or other technical issues, but because they see no hope.
Therefore, we can see several things happening at the same time: the frontline city of红军 and Kupiansk are surrounded, and suddenly a corruption case broke out in the rear, which is led by the FBI and the anti-corruption system established by the West in Ukraine. This means that the West has completely bypassed Zelenskyy and conducted a sudden raid on his close associates and senior officials in the government.
With this, the West has sufficient interests to cut back on aid to Ukraine. If you give them money, they still can't fight, and there are people who are corrupt. How can you support them?
Zelenskyy may continue to ask for money, but the West can also confidently send him away.
It is even possible that this whole operation is a designed trap, aimed at forcing Zelenskyy to step down. You don't come for the money, you can't win the war, and you have wasted the aid, so why should you continue to be president?
